That’s right… as if the show couldn’t be jam-packed, Bob over at No Radio has added local trio THE SETTLERS to tomorrow night’s lineup of NEPTUNE/Eskimo King/The Skaters/Zac Davis. The Settlers, for those unaware, is the solo project of local singer-songwriter Cosmo Alpern. He will be joined by bandmates Felix Teitelbaum (The Splendors) on drums […]

Intern Ted recently wrote a great article about NEPTUNE, who are headlining Sunday’s show at No Radio Records. An excerpt:
Indeed, it is the trademark live shows that make Neptune unique, as few other bands go into sets with such a diverse array of instruments at their fingertips. Besides the light-switch oscillator, the lamellaphone, and a […]

It’s almost time! Our flyer is a little wrong, but it’s basically the same show. Unfortunately, Nate Nelson of Mouthus won’t be able to attend — but Zac Davis will be filling in for him and playing a double guitar set with Brian Sullivan/Eskimo King. It’s going to be pretty incredible.
Also, NEPTUNE is now headlining […]

Tonight! Tzar at No Radio Recs.

Local experimental prog/jazz/funk duo TZAR will play tonight at No Radio Records. The show starts at 8pm. Drummer/bass pedalist Willie B has recently returned from a long touring jaunt with Jamie Lidell, and we think this is his first (and only?) show while he’s briefly in Ithaca and before he goes back out on the […]

This is going to be such a killer night. Major props to the good folks at Albany Sonic Arts Collective for organizing this show! The space there is amazing and intimate, but small — they’re advising folks get there around 7pm (the show starts at 8pm) if they want to be sure of a seat.

I can haz working blog?

We’re back! The blog is up and running! Prepare for onslaught of posts, photos, and cute puppehs.

[Text by Ted Hamilton] Although Ithaca prides itself on the diversity of its cultural offerings, a subset of music fans has been left out in the cold since the closing of the Odyssey Night Club on N. Cayuga Street six years ago. Fortunately for these devotees of electronic dance music, there will be a chance […]

Hiya, Internet!

Greetings and salutations. Jared Kraminitz here, arts intern extraordinaire reporting to you live via the internets! Before we get to the nitty-gritty, a little about me: I’m a Cornell student studying labor relations and, among other things, I enjoy ice cream, cookies, and Elvis Costello. When I’m not slaving away here at […]

Watch it here. It’s pretty great — Willie B really rips it up (chewing gum and all). They’re performing Jamie Lidell’s tune, ‘Another Day.”

[Text by Luke Z. Fenchel] Until The Ocean, The Horse Flies’ first studio release in more than fifteen years, is an immense and captivating work of sophisticated art: not only the finest album to come out of the Ithaca area in many years, it stands among the best American releases from any region in any […]
