0 Comments Published by Natasha June 29th, 2008 in Local, Music. That’s right… as if the show couldn’t be jam-packed, Bob over at No Radio has added local trio THE SETTLERS to tomorrow night’s lineup of NEPTUNE/Eskimo King/The Skaters/Zac Davis. The Settlers, for those unaware, is the solo project of local singer-songwriter Cosmo Alpern. He will be joined by bandmates Felix Teitelbaum (The Splendors) on drums […]
Interview: Neptune, and the musical architecture of scrap metal
15 Comments Published by Natasha June 27th, 2008 in Music, Interview.Intern Ted recently wrote a great article about NEPTUNE, who are headlining Sunday’s show at No Radio Records. An excerpt:
Indeed, it is the trademark live shows that make Neptune unique, as few other bands go into sets with such a diverse array of instruments at their fingertips. Besides the light-switch oscillator, the lamellaphone, and a […]
SUNDAY! Neptune/The Skaters/Brian Sullivan + Zac Davis! SUNDAY!
10 Comments Published by Natasha June 27th, 2008 in Local, Music, About me, Things to do.It’s almost time! Our flyer is a little wrong, but it’s basically the same show. Unfortunately, Nate Nelson of Mouthus won’t be able to attend — but Zac Davis will be filling in for him and playing a double guitar set with Brian Sullivan/Eskimo King. It’s going to be pretty incredible.
Also, NEPTUNE is now headlining […]

Major props to the good folks at Albany Sonic Arts Collective for organizing this show! The space there is amazing and intimate, but small — they’re advising folks get there around 7pm (the show starts at 8pm) if they want to be sure of a seat.
We’re back! The blog is up and running! Prepare for onslaught of posts, photos, and cute puppehs.

Tomorrow night at Pixel: Deep Beatz with Hemiptera
10 Comments Published by Natasha June 13th, 2008 in Local, Music, Interview, Encore.[Text by Ted Hamilton] Although Ithaca prides itself on the diversity of its cultural offerings, a subset of music fans has been left out in the cold since the closing of the Odyssey Night Club on N. Cayuga Street six years ago. Fortunately for these devotees of electronic dance music, there will be a chance […]
