The Avetts are a tried-and-true favorite of the Ithaca roots rock crowd (they’ve headlined Grassroots Festival several times, and the ladies seem to love ‘em — read our thoughts here), and they’ve been steadily raising in profile, thanks to appearances on NPR’s World Cafe, positive Pitchfork reviews, and honors from the Americana Music Association. Don’t know much about Nashville-bred singer-songwriter Will Hoge — seems like sensitive, everyman bar rock, from what I’ve been told — but I have a sneaking suspicion the ladies are going to love him, too.
