[...] [Photo by Luis Ruiz] A quick sidenote to my announcement for Sunday’s show with Tom Carter of Charalambides. A year or two ago we interviewed both Tom and Christina Carter before a Charalambides show at the Soundlab in Buffalo.
[...] I finally uploaded photos from another epic weekend of live music — Friday was the enormously fun Bill Nace + Harrius [they’re 50% based in Baltimore, so Jess Harvell is a fan! Read his review here] + Burnt Hills show over at the Flipped Out Records headquarters in Albany. A major thank you to them for putting that show on. This Saturday, Oct. 26, Tom Carter + Wovoka + Century Plants will play in the same space. It will definitely be a worthwhile show to check out, so if anyone happens to be in that area hit up the Flipped Out guys for more information. On Saturday, we saw Mouthus + Yellow Swans + Enos Slaughter [members of No Neck Blues Band + Sunburned Hand of the Man] at Issue Project Room. At the end of the night, Mouthus and Yellow Swans did an live collab that we’re glad we saw. Then we headed back to Williamsburg to Carbon’s (of Metalux) loft, because Jenny Graf (of Harrius + Mouthus) told us about a Yellow Swans aftershow there. Although we missed Jenny’s set, we went around the corner to Death by Audio to catch the tail end of what looked like a great show (Ruins + AIDS Wolf + Sightings + Health + Zs), and caught the Zs halfway through their spazzy, minimalist-math rock ruckus. The following are some photos from the weekend, and you can see them all at our flickr or in our photos section. [...]
